General Questions
Question:
How can MYRIAD help my organization?
MYRIAD is used in
engineering, design, manufacturing, and construction
environments to enable all team members to view,
redline, and markup CAD drawings, graphic files and
documents. MYRIAD provides significant cost-savings by enabling
visual access to files in different formats without
requiring the native CAD software on every desktop
and by reducing the risk of compromising the original files. This
collaboration software improves communication and
process efficiency by enabling your organization and
your suppliers/customers (if desired) to review and
annotate (markup) office documents, images and CAD
drawings in a unified interface not requiring a great
deal of expertise.

Question:
What's unique
about MYRIAD?
MYRIAD is clean and simple. Very efficient for
both documents and drawings, and CAD models. It offers a single, unified user interface that requires no training to
use. It boasts excellent fidelity
and supports rich content concepts (not just raster pixels)
like text search, layers, block attributes, selective
part cut always, and interactive part identification and
pull off. MYRIAD views most any native format so no conversion is needed, though all
popular neutral formats— like PDF, XPS, DWF and secure
CSF—are also supported. Security features
include Visual Rights®, non-editable access to viewed
files.

Question:
What
functionality does MYRIAD offer?
MYRIAD has standard navigation and markup tools,
including pan, zoom, rotate, filtering, layer view and measurement
features. It also provides a tool to compare original
and redlined drawings side-by-side,

Evaluation and Licensing
Questions
Question:
Can we
evaluate MYRIAD before we buy?
Certainly. Simply download the trial version. If you
need an extended evaluation period beyond the regular
10-day trial license, please email our Sales department

Question:
How is MYRIAD licensed and what does it cost?
MYRIAD is available as individual desktop software or
concurrent network software. Citrix licensing is also
available. To receive a quote,
please contact our Sales group at 800-398-7005 or via email at
sales@infograph.com.

Question:
What is the difference between a non-concurrent network
and desktop license?
A stand-alone license is installed and used on one
computer. A network license is installed on a
network making it simpler to roll out MYRIAD to multiple
users in the same company allowing each "named" users
access to the software. All named users can run
the software. A concurrent (or floating) license
is installed on a network, and allows a set number of
employees to use the program, based on the number of
licenses purchased. For example, if you buy five
licenses, anyone in your company can use MYRIAD, but
only five of them can at any one time. MYRIAD
Desktop is installed directly on your computer, and
MYRIAD Network is installed on your server. For a
network license, we require you to submit either your IP
address or machine name.

Question:
Can
MYRIAD administer concurrent licenses?
Yes. MYRIAD includes a License
Manager that can be set up as a service to keep track of
all your concurrent licenses. Just install a free, small
(23K) "app to service" program that we have available at
(http://www.infograph.com/support/TechTipRunLicenseServerService.htm)
on our web site. The License Server will execute when
you reboot your machine.

Question:
What navigation and display tools does MYRIAD offer?
MYRIAD offers dynamic zoom, pan and
magnifier view controls; visual compare of two files
showing differences; rotate and mirror; layer control;
scale to gray (for black and white raster); page
thumbnails; and geometry snap measurement tools.

Question:
What types of annotation/markup functions does MYRIAD have?
MYRIAD's markup tools include lines,
polygon and cloud shapes, highlights, text annotations,
and sticky notes. Markups maintain author and date
information and are saved as XML overlays to the
original document.

Question:
Why is MYRIAD easier to use than competitive offerings?
MYRIAD's interface is uncluttered, with
an
emphasis on navigation so you can quickly find what you need whether
you are viewing a document, image or CAD drawing.
Documents load zoomed to width for easy reading. Drawings
load in Fit All view, ready for you to select the initial zoom area.
The combination Zoom/Pan tool lets the user get to any location fast. Changemarks
make stepping through annotations/markups foolproof, so
reviewing is a snap.

Question:
How do I control the feature detail in models?
You can manually adjust the
amount of detail recognized as a geometric shape on a
tessellated 3D model by using the Feature Recognition
Computation slider tool on the 3D Options tab. If you
move the slider towards Less Aggressive, larger sections
of model are recognized. If you move the slider towards
More Aggressive, smaller sections are recognized.

Question:
Can I also control the display precision for
measurements?
Yes. On the 3D Display tab you
can use the Measurement/Dimension Precision to enter a
number from 1 through 5 to specify the number of decimal
places to be used in calibration. For example, if you
enter a "5" your measurement would be 5.14389, but if
you enter a "2" it would be 5.14. "4" is the default
value.

Question:
Can I exclude parts of models from cutting and cross
sectioning?
Yes. You can do this by hiding
the parts you don't want to cut or cross section. After
you've made your cut/cross section, use the display
command to make the parts reappear.

Collaboration
Question:
How can I keep track of the changes everyone submits?
MYRIAD's Changemarks feature helps organize and streamline your
engineering change order (ECO) management process.
Changemarks guides you through each redline
step-by-step--even through a large document set-- so you
can be sure you've understood all redlines correctly,
and incorporated them into your revised drawings.

Question:
What if some of my design team members don't have
MYRIAD?
Simply publish the files to secure CSF (2D) or
3DF (3D) with Visual Rights persistent file security.
Distribute them with the free Brava Reader (2D) or free
MYRIAD 3D Reader (3D).

Security
Question:
Can MYRIAD edit document/drawing files?
No. MYRIAD does not alter the original file.

Question:
Can users edit markups created by others?
Users cannot edit another user's annotations. Each
annotation entity is marked with the creator's username,
date and time. Users with sufficient permission can consolidate all markups,
even from other users, for a workflow process.

Question:
What is secure CSF / 3DF with Visual Rights?
MYRIAD can publish files/models into an accurate, encrypted, secure Content Sealed Format (CSF)
file (2D) or 3DF file (3D). These are neutral formats
designed to make it easy to share files while still
controlling what happens to the content. The CSF and 3DF
formats allow users to add Visual Rights persistent file
security including print,
copy, measure, markup and analyze rights and the ability
to expire the file on a certain date. You can also add
watermarks and banners and burn-in markups. CSF files can be
easily distributed
using our free Brava Reader. 3DF files can be viewed by
the free MYRIAD 3D Reader.
